Heuristic play is rooted in young children’s natural curiosity. Children have the opportunity to explore natural materials and day to day objects to discover for themselves what they can do, offering ‘sensory motor’ experiences and a primary source of information and knowledge. This strengthens children’s cognitive development as well as fine muscle control and hand/eye coordination.
Babies’ brains develop in response to their surroundings through the sense of touch, smell, taste, hearing, sight and movement. To support this we provide treasure baskets which is a collection of everyday objects chosen to stimulate the different senses, giving babies a wide range of sensory motor experiences to help the brain develop, making connections while they explore at their own pace.
